The Hephaestus Collection
Named after the Greek God of metalworking, this collection begins my journey into the world of metal work. It joins concrete and copper in a union for the ages.
Why do Italians seem to have it all together? She grabs a cappuccino and strolls past the Pantheon like its been there since the beginning of time. You stop in awe at the architecture, the history, and her effortless looks. Her necklace captures your gaze, glistening in the sun. How do you even find something like that? It's probably custom.
This piece started of by taking the simple circle, and making the point of connection more meaningful. The large gauge wire that encircles the pendant creates an enticing negative space and balances the solid concrete core. Hangs on an adjustable (16"-24") black leather cord.
Ripped jeans and faded Chucks. White v-neck and striped blazer. She's a walking contradiction, but you can't look away. She smiles to herself and touches her necklace, wrapping the black leather around her middle finger. Only half paying attention to the world around her, she almost misses her stop. Jolted back to reality, she squeezes out of the trolley and is quickly lost in the shuffle. Make a promise to stay young at heart.
Double the circles, double the fun. This bubbly piece is the perfect topper for your New Year's Eve Party! The use of thick wire "bubbles" lighten this otherwise visually heavy concrete pendant. Hangs on an adjustable (16"-24") black leather cord so you can let it hang low, or tighten it up for the perfect choker.
The subway doors open. Her refined actions stand out among the chaos. Pausing alongside a column, she lets the mob pass. You are captivated by her calm demeanor and classic style. Contrasting against the chaos of the city, she seems soothed, not strangled by it. She controls her experience. Her path clears and she continues on her commute. Simple black pumps click on the marble. Her hand gently grazes the railing, and almost without warning, she disappears.
Balanced in an unusual way. This piece has a bold graphic style. Two concrete filled rings suspended and separated by a thick wire loop. It reminds me of two planets in orbit. Forever connected but never touching.
The Hephaestus Collection. Only one of each is available. Each is hand-cut, hammered, and formed, right here in Baton Rouge. Each is strung on an adjustable black leather cord. The concrete is sealed with a water-based acrylic sealer to prevent it from picking up stains. The copper is sealed with Renaissance Wax to prevent tarnishing.
In the shop today. Available only for December.
