What is concrete?
Concrete is a special mix of cement and aggregates (like sand and small rocks). When cement is exposed to water, it undergoes a chemical reaction, binding the sand and small rocks together. That result is wonderful, fabulous, concrete.
OK, but why concrete?
Concrete is all around us, but rarely do we ever stop to appreciate it's subtle texture, the variations in color, or rough finish. By using concrete in my work I've chosen to elevate this everyday material. Concrete reminds me to stop and look around once in a while, to enjoy the subtleties in life, and to appreciate the everyday adventures.
With my background in Landscape Architecture, I love working with my hands and getting dirty. Concrete is a material with a humble utilitarian attitude, and I love that I get a chance to make it something special in peoples' jewelry boxes.
But isn't concrete heavy?
You will be surprised by how light concrete jewelry is! I find that it is similar in weight to ceramic jewelry.
I've never worn concrete before...
And you're going to let that stop you?
I understand that concrete jewelry may be a totally new thing for you. All my jewelry comes with a 3-in-3 guarantee! Wear it for 3 months, and if you don't get at least 3 compliments on it, send it back for a full refund, no questions asked.
I also offer a 1 year warranty, so if it get's knocked off your vanity by an overly curious feline and your roomba takes it for a ride around the house, I got you covered.
I love it! Where can I find your products?
How do I take care of my concrete?
Concrete is a very low-maintenance material. Your's will patina and start to reflect your lifestyle. All pieces are sealed to slow this process, but you can't prevent it. Check out the care page for more info on taking care of your concrete jewelry.
I have custom needs, can you help?
We would love to! I've worked with artists all over the country turning their rough napkin sketches into kick-ass concrete accents! Head over to the contact page and drop me a line. Custom work can take 4-6 weeks to complete.
